Coconut Zipper Gift Box

Coconut Zipper is made of real coconut with zipper. You just have to remove the coconut water and meat, stick zipper in the middle of coconut shell.

It is great gift box for eco-friendly products, jewelry, chocolates or you can also use it for keeping chess pieces, dice etc.,

I am using it as jewelry case ;) See! How cool it is!

Step 1: Supplies

Things you will need for making coconut zipper is

Zipper - Longer one (that should fits coconut circumference)
Hot glue.gun
Glue sticks
Hammer/Iron rod
Sand paper
Thread and needle
Bowl for collecting coconut water

Step 2: Drain Coconut water

Take coconut, nail , hammer/iron rod and bowl.

Place the nail over one of three black eyes. Hammer the nail to make a hole.

Drain the coconut water completely in bowl. Filter and drink it.

(Coconut water has lot of benefits. It boosts hydration, reduces blood pressure and removes acne)

Step 3: Break it into two even piece!

It is tricky part, because you should break it evenly in the middle. Here, I used iron rod to break it. Just hit the coconut (in the middle) few times with iron rod. It will break into two piece easily. It is time consuming method, but have to do it very carefully.

Other option for perfect cut:

Mark the coconut in the middle and cut it using hack saw. (If I have hack saw, I will follow this method only)

Step 4: Remove coconut meat

Microwave each coconut for couple of minutes. It will be really very hot. Use oven mitton to take out from microwave.

Let them cool for sometime.

Now use spoon/knife to take out the meat. Insert spoon inbetween the coconut shell and meat, and twist & rotate the spoon little by little. For me, its worked on first try itself.

(Since its microwaved, the edges of the coconut meat gets loosen, hence It will come off easily)

You can use the coconut meat for making dip/chutney/butter or you can have it raw.. I love to eat it raw :)

Step 5: Sand out!

Sand out the coconut shell and rim, until it feels smooth texture.

Step 6: Zipper time!

Measure the coconut shell circumference with zipper and cut zipper according to the measurement.

Stitch both ends with thread and needle inorder to secure the zipper head.

Step 7: Glue it!

Take one half of coconut shell , stick the zipper inside of it using hot glue. Leave some space for zipper head to open the zip. (Make sure that zipper right side facing out)

Once u glued it on one side. Take other half of coconut shell, unzip the zipper and start applying glue on inner side of shell and stick the zipper.

TADA! its done... Surprise your loved one with gift as well as beautiful GIFT BOX :)

Dry Baby, Happy Baby

I am a mom of 2-year-old. She is super active baby. she never sits in a place for just 15 minutes. she keeps doing some activities like running, jumping, dancing., The main reason of her active level is she feels comfortable with her diaper. It always keeps her dry.  Since she was four months old, I am using Pampers diaper. Till now I have no issues of using it.

When she was born, I have no idea about baby products. I asked my mom, she told that she used cloth diapers for us. But I do not like to go for cloth diapers. It will increase double the time of cleaning work. Hence, I bought some baby diapers from nearby store. The problem I have faced using that diaper is it gets full in an hour and it started to leakage. Every hour I have to change her diaper. After few days she got diarrhea problem and her diaper wont absorbs at all. It started leaking from sides and then ended with a big mess. I was so tired of cleaning and changing.  During night-time, she wakes up every two hours due to wetness. It made her feel uncomfortable and started crying. After I changed new diaper, it will take another two hours to go to sleep. She never get uninterrupted sleep until her four month.  One of my friend came to  home, we were simply discussing the kids, food and all. I told  her that she got up every night due to the wetness of diaper. She suggested me to use "Pampers".  I used it for her very first time. It was very easy to put on and she dint feel uncomfortable. I went to do some other home works. After three hours I came back to change her diaper,  but it was not full and there was no wetness, no leakages at all. Then I used it for night time, we both had sound sleep  without any interruption. Pampers keeps my baby dry throughout the night.  The next day morning she feels so fresh and active. Yes, of course I am too. A good diaper should be leakage free, wetness free, good absorbing quality.

Features of Pampers dry baby pant:

1. up to 12 hours of overnight protection

2. easy and comfortable to wear

3. Magic gel, that provides up to ten hours dryness

4. protects the skin from rashes

5. Stretchy sides

6. Fun designs

An uninterrupted good night sleep also defines babies health. Both are proportional to each other. Healthy food, sound sleep, fun activities make happy babies. Take a look at Pampers reward me website and grab your free sample today from P&G products.

Act Positive, Be Positive

An optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties - Henry S Truman

Whatever you do, Just believe in good things and do it with your whole heart. This is the line I always tell to myself. Being optimistic is my strength. It helped me a lot to overcome many situations. I am going to share some of my experience.

This incident happened When I was doing final year of engineering. In my college, during last 2 semester Campus interview takes place. Many companies came to my college to recruit us, but getting job in the first company was everyone's dream. That was my wish too. I had so confident that I will select on the first company itself.  I planned six month before and started preparing for aptitude, group discussion, technical interview. I tried some online aptitude test in Internet to improve my mathematical skills. The days went so fast. Finally, One of the top private company came to my college recruitment. First they conducted written exam. I did clear it and passed to the next level. The second level was group discussion, surprisingly they gave my favorite topic "Cricket". I cleared that level too. Last selection process was technical and HR interview. I did both the interview, but somehow I felt that I dint do well like the previous two levels. Later, they said that result gonna be announced by tomorrow morning. I got tensed and I badly wanted to select in that company. All I did was believe in positive side and lets hope for the best. I told to myself thousand times that I am one of the selected candidate. Next day, I went to auditorium hall with my friends for the result announcement. After an hour, They started calling the selected candidate names. They called some of my friend's name, by that time tension raised from head to toe. After two-three names, they called my name Bhawya. I couldn't hear anything else other than my name. I was on cloud nine. Still when I think about that moment, I get goosebumps.  That was the first victory in my life ever. The positive thinking and my hard work made me win in that situation.
Another incident happened when I conceived with my first baby. My husband got an on-site opportunity. That was his dream. Since it was my first pregnancy, my hubby decided to ignore it. He was not ready to go alone and he wanted to spend time with me throughout my pregnancy. I know that on-site job opportunity will not come often. I told him to sign in the offer. Look up and Lets hope for the good things happen. I and my husband had taken this risk and went to abroad alone. That was new place for us and no one was there near to guide us. Somehow we did manage till 9 months. My mom came here on 9th month to help me for 3 months. On Nov 7th 2012, I blessed with beautiful girl. Once I got the bundle of joy in my hand, all the pains were vanished in a second. The positive and bold move gave us nice moments in our life.

Alkaline water and its benefits

Pure and clean water is the core for good health.  70% of the body is filled with water.  Hence, drinking water is the best way to get essential minerals to our healthy  body.  For that, drinking water of pH value matters a lot.  The pH scales of water ranges from 0 to 14. According to water research, a water with a pH < 7 is considered acidic and with a pH > 7 is considered basic. Many peoples think that drinking purified or distilled water is good for heath, but the truth is absolutely NO. Purified water has more absorbing nature. When the distilled/purified water comes to contact with the air, it certainly absorbs carbon dioxide and makes it acidic. That is so harmful to health. The more you drink purified water, the more your body becomes acidic. So, stop drinking purified water and start using Ionized water/Alkaline water.

What is Alkaline water?

Alkaline water is also known as ionized water, which has pH value  is greater than 7. It helps to balance the body pH value. It alkalize the body pH from acidic to Alkaline pH value.

Togetherness creates magic, it's called positive vibration. I have experienced many unforgettable and memorable moment in my life. Today I am gonna share one of the most memorable moment in my life. It was my pregnancy time. Every women wish their husband needs to be with them throughout the pregnancy time. I am so blessed in that way. He is the only one, who took care of me throughout my pregnancy. After our marriage, My husband and I moved to Canada because of his work. We stayed alone there. By that time, I was carrying our first baby (three months). Hence, I had to go to clinic for check up every month. We both went to nearby clinic one day and registered family doctor for me. Every month doctor visit he took permission from office and came with me to the clinic. I was suffered a lot from Morning sickness. I dint like outside food too. He cooks for me and make some healthy smoothies too. He never allows me to do any work at home. I was overwhelmed by his unconditional love and care. Some months later, I reached my due date. I was expecting my labor pain. But there was nothing for another two days. We went to consult doctor that I crossed my due date but there is no pain at all. He gave me a week time. If I dint get pain for a week, he will give injection to induce pain. He told us about the inducing procedure. I have no hope about it. I was scared about it. My hubby promised me that he ll take care every seconds until u get the baby in your hand. Two days later I got mild pain in my back. I had no idea that this was labor pain. It became 30 minutes apart. I called my hubby and he came home another 20 minutes. We were so thrilled and excited that we gonna have our baby in some hours. After two hours, pain interval time reduced to 20 minutes, but the pain was bearable. He was checking my hospital bag, that everything was ready. In the mid night, it became three minutes apart and the intense of the pain became heavier. He rang to emergency number and told about my situation. They told us to come to hospital. He took all my stuffs and locked the home and told me “When we come back to home, you will carry our soul mate in your hand”. We are looking forward to that moment. We reached the hospital in cab, my hubby was holding my hand tightly and speaking positively. They did some internal exam and said “ You came on right time, I will take you to the labor room”. I got tensed and my feets became so cold. At that time, I saw my husband face and hold his hand tightly. That was my only strength. After 20 minutes, I gave birth to a cute angel. My hubby cut the umbilical cord and doctor gave our baby girl to my husband. Happy tears were rolled down on our eyes and he showed our life to me. She grabbed my finger with her tiny soft fingers. That was one of the best unforgettable and most cherish able moment in my life. My hubby was there with me by holding my hand till I gave birth to my baby. The power of being #together made us to pass the hardest(labor time) of life.

Ginger Candy | Inji Murabba | Home Remedy for Nausea and Digestion problem

Ginger is considered a warming and spicy flavored herb. The warming nature of ginger is reflected in the fact that ginger can be used against various illnesses caused by cold. Ginger is also used in cases of food poisoning and nausea, poor digestion, diarrhea, lack of appetite, hand and feet feel cold. You can have a fresh small piece of ginger, if you have any above mentioned illness. Some people (like me) don't like the raw taste of ginger. So, here is the solution.

Ginger candy is the best home remedy for many illnesses in South India. In Tamil nadu, We call it as Inji Murabba ( Inji means Ginger ; Murabba means Sweet Jam Pickle). My mom used to make this candy for us. She always keeps small stash of ginger candy in her hand bag. I have suffered travel sickness many times during my childhood days. This candy helped me to get rid of those sickness.

This is the simplest and best medicine for sore throat, nausea, cold, good digestion, giddiness, sinus problem, especially good for 1st trimester morning sickness.

Serving suggestion: A CANDY in A DAY. Please do not eat this candy like a normal candy. Too much of anything is good for nothing.

Step 1: Ingredients and Supplies

100 gram Fresh young ginger

1 cup Granulated sugar

1/4 cup water

2 tbsp of All purpose flour / Maida

A pinch of cardamon powder

Butter spray

cookie sheet

Bread Mold

Yield : 20 pieces

Storage method: Air tight container at room temperature. It will be good for a month.

Step 2: Grate ginger and Prepare mold

Choose fresh, young ginger. That gives you the best result.

Peel the skin of ginger using peeler or knife.

Wash it thoroughly with fresh running water and pat dry it with paper towel.

Grate the ginger in fine grater.

Tip: It is easy to grate a big piece of ginger, once the ginger in your hand becomes small, its really hard to hold and grate. Don't throw it away.

Take a fork, pinch into the small piece of ginger. Now grate it by moving the fork with ginger up and down. you wont get hurt and you don't waste it too :)

Prepare Mold: Place cookie sheet on mold and grease well with butter or ghee.

Step 3: Ginger Candy preparation

Heat pan on medium heat. add sugar, cardamon powder and water into it.

Melt sugar by stirring constantly.

After few minutes, it will start bubbling. Now check the sugar syrup for right consistency: Gathering consistency

How to check right consistency : Take some water in bowl or plate, pour little sugar syrup in it. It can be gathered using your fingers. It should not dissolve in water. If its dissolve, wait for a minute and repeat the test.

Once sugar syrup got the right consistency, add grated ginger into it and stir occasionally.

After few minutes, grated ginger will change into glassy look and the top layer of syrup cover with bubbles.

Now add 2 tbsp of flour and keep stirring it (to avoid any lump formation) for a minutes.

Step 4: Pour into mold and allow it to set. It's ready!!

Pour the hot candy mixture into greased Mold/container.

Allow it to completely cool down. Then cut into approximately 1X1 cm square shape.

Keep the candies outside until it turns to hard.

Once it becomes harden, store it in air tight container.

In his childhood days, he was pampered by his mom like any other child. At his teenage, he lost his mother. That incident had broken my dad's strength, confidence. It took so many years to overcome that situation. Once he completed his studies, he started looking after my grandpa's mill and farm. But, he is so passionate about construction related works. His long-term wish was to start his very own construction company. My dad decided to go behind his dream after his marriage. After my parents got married, they moved to mayiladuthurai. They stayed in rented home. It was consisted of a living room, bedroom with attached bathroom and small balcony. Initially, dad hesitated to take risk, My mom encouraged him to chase his dream. He looked up for bright future and took a bold step to go farther towards his dream. He invested huge amount to start his construction company “Vasthu Builders / Sahana Property Promoters”. He improves his knowledge with the latest technology. He always engages himself with some work like doing planning and estimation, studying software civil courses. After some years, my dad got recognition from his earlier works. His first big project was building complex. It is G+3 floor (ground floor plus three floor). It has 7 single bedroom houses. After that project, he got so much construction opportunities. So far, he built 50 plus residential building, 10 plus shopping complexes. His hard work and confidence is the only reason to obtain his dream. My dad got stabilized in his work. Since we stayed in the same house for 10 years. He decided to move farther “ Building an own house”. This is the another big step he took in his life. When it comes to building an own house, my dad was so confident to finish it soon. A year later, we moved to our own house. That was really great feeling. Dry Baby, Happy Baby

My daughter is two years old. I always keep her busy with engaging some of her favorite as well as fun activities. Before I give her some activity, I make sure that she feels comfortable, her tummy is full and put on her comfortable dress and wet free / rash free diaper. My daughter had rashes problem because of diaper wetness. I have tried many brands. Finally, I found a promising brand “Pampers”. She doesn't feel the wetness and she is comfortable with that. Most importantly, No Rashes. My baby can get up to 12 hours of overnight protection, which helps her get the uninterrupted sleep she needs for a great morning.

OK! Now all set, baby is comfortable with her dress and diaper. Now its time for some fun activities.

Make some mess and then clean up all : This is her favorite fun activity. Past few months, I have noticed that my little one got attracted to electronic gadgets. She stopped playing with her toys, she simply keeps mobile in her hand and watches cartoon. To distract her mind, I introduced this activity. I give some flour and water in bowl. She got excited and involved into it like mixing the batter, messing the entire hall and finally she helps me to clean up all the mess.

Puzzle fixing: Once she learnt how to hold the things, I introduced puzzle games to her. In the beginning l, she just throw away all the puzzles everywhere. After some days she slowly learnt to match colors, geometric shapes. I see her happy face whenever she does the puzzle.

Imitating her: When she is not in a good mood, I imitate her. With in a minute, her sad face changes to happy face and then she started playing normally :)

Playing hide and seek: This is her all time favorite game. I close my eyes, she goes and sit on the sofa :P. She thinks that "she s hiding in a good spot and mom cant find me"..Then  I go and search all over the house. Finally, I come near to sofa and say “Mommy found you”. She likes if I search for her long time.

Singing rhymes and dancing: I know some set of her favorite rhymes. When I sing those rhymes, she sings along with me and start dancing to that.

Her favorite baby toy: She calls it as “boo boo”. She tells me that boo boo is her baby. She treats the toy like a baby. She feeds it with her milk bottle and wipes its mouth. Sometimes she changes diaper too. She enjoys taking care of it.

Outdoor playing : Twice a day, I took her to the nearest park from my home. She likes playing and rolling on the grass. It makes my baby feel more happy.

The Pampers dry diaper are the best diaper ever. There is no leakage and keeps my little one super dry and super comfortable.
