Kuzhi paniyaram/Kara Paniyaram is one of the popular breakfast dish in South India. It is made using regular Idli/dosa batter. If you are bored of having same breakfast, try this paniyaram recipe. It is very easy to make and it tastes so good. My daughter likes it lot.

2 cup thick Idli batter
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup carrot, shredded
2 to 3 green chilli, chopped
small piece of ginger, chopped finely
Few curry leaves
1/2 tsp Mustard seed
1 tbsp oil + some for making paniyaram
Heat oil in pan, once oil become hot add mustard seed and curry leaves.
When mustard seeds start to splutter, add ginger and chilli. Fry for a minute.
Add in onions and carrot, mix and close the lid. Cook until it turn to soft.
Remove the pan from flame and let it warm for sometime.
Once the mixture is warmed enough, add it to the idli batter and mix well. ( Add salt if required)
Paniyaram batter is ready now!!
Heat paniyaram/appe pan and add few drops of oil in each mould.
Pour spoonful of batter until 3/4th of mould.
Cook on both sides until they become golden brown on both sides.
Serve hot with your fav choice of chutney.
